Welcome to the Revolution

Hi there, welcome to my blog - La Revolution Deux. It's an odd name - but I like it! Here you will find all the info on my various DIY Guitar effects builds, amplifiers and guitars. Everything from a humble Ibanez tubescreamer to the holiest KLON Overdrive.

You may also find a few effects builds that I am looking to move on - usually in exchange for other effects/gear/cash. You can always check my ebay account to see what I've got up for grabs.

Have fun, enjoy the blog - Fred Briggs :-)

Delay Probe - Proximity Controlled Delay Pedal!

Yes, a proximity controlled delay. It is basically a Zvex probe circuit hooked up to a modified Rebote delay circuit - the vactrol from the probe circuit is hooked in parallel over the rebote's delay time control pot allowing you to take crazy control of this parameter!

Above you can see the prototype boards bundled together and wired up rather messily! Towards the bottom of the picture you can see the copper PCB antenna :-) You can get all sorts of sounds from it just by waiving your hand/foot/other auxiliary organs above the copper pcb board. Anything from wild pitch bends through to a soft chorus-y effect. It needs some tweaking but it's getting there! Expect more updates soon :-)

  1. Hey that's great, I had some thoughts about a seek-delay, but with a probe it can be crazy too!!

    Awesome work man, keep going!
