Welcome to the Revolution

Hi there, welcome to my blog - La Revolution Deux. It's an odd name - but I like it! Here you will find all the info on my various DIY Guitar effects builds, amplifiers and guitars. Everything from a humble Ibanez tubescreamer to the holiest KLON Overdrive.

You may also find a few effects builds that I am looking to move on - usually in exchange for other effects/gear/cash. You can always check my ebay account to see what I've got up for grabs.

Have fun, enjoy the blog - Fred Briggs :-)

Menatone - King of the Britons

Menatone, well known for their "Amp in a Can" stuff. Well I've had a few requests for a few of the Menatone boxes and thanks to the freestompboxes.org forum here is the "King of the Britons". Marshall-esqe uber distortion, give it a try - I did and quite enjoyed it. I built up the RunOffGroove.com "Thor" though and enjoyed that much more...

Here's a demo;

Here's the scheme:

  3. You mention you like the Thor better. What makes you prefer it? i.e., what is the difference between the sound of these two pedals?

    Also, any word on the Satchurator yet? :)

  4. Can you tell me what the sound difference is between this King of the Britons compared to UK-Electronics JMC800 emulator the circuit is basically the same but this one has added capacitors and some resistor values differ?

  5. Has anyone successfully built this pedal from this schematic?
